On May 3, 2019, Bishop Gregory Ortiz appointed Frs. Arthur Dones, Andrew Wyns, and Eric Ockrin to serve the Diocese of the Northeast as Canon Missioners. These men assist the bishop by providing leadership and ministry beyond their local parishes. They often act as a spokesperson for the bishop and may act as his representative for diocesan concerns.
Canon Arthur Dones is the Rector of Sts. Peter and Paul CEC in Mississauga, Ontario. He also oversees the St. Timothy CEC in Edmonton, Alberta. Canon Andrew Wyns serves as the Dean of the Cathedral of Christ the King in New Paltz, NY. Cn. Wyns has developed and program for mentoring and raising up young men and women for leadership in the Church, so far two of the men who participated in this ministry have been ordained as Deacons. Canon Eric Ockrin is the Rector of Trinity Communion Church (TCC) in Rochester, NY, where he has established a mentoring relationship many men and women, and TCC regularly hosts interns at the church from Elim Bible Institute, Roberts Wesleyan College, and Northeastern Seminary. Please prayer for our Canon Missioners and they work to Grow the Kingdom of God.
